Lately I've gotten nervous using our little boy's real name on this here weblog, given the bizarre and voluminous comment spam that's been going on. Do I honestly think my readers are using this blog to find "Gay Sex Previews!" or to "Check out my ringtones!"? No. But the fact that some spam-bot is lurking around just kind of gives me the willies. I realize this doesn't exactly constitute a threat to my boy's wellbeing, but it does serve as a reminder that it is not just family, friends, and well-wishing readers that stop by this little corner of the web.
Welcome to the brave new world of the innernets, people.
So to ease this little paternal neurosis, from now on our cute little giant two-month-old baby boy will be known to the innernets as Chins.
I know, how cruel is that? But whatev'. That really is what we call him...
Now I just need to go back and change two months' worth of posts, and hope that Google doesn't take too long updating its cached pages.
*****
That will be all. We now return to the regularly scheduled program.
Now we all just need some hush-money and you'll be all good.
:-)

May I suggest you also start funding an account to pay for his future therapy when he realizes the whole world knows him as Chins. So it's no longer just the children of the royalty, Hollywood stars, and captains of industry who have to be kept out of the limelight. Even nameless, he's really adorable, though.

You are not alone.
My Rugrat and Squeak say hello to Chins.

I had a brief freak out like this recently, too. I had to go back and make sure that none of my posts identified me too specifically. It's a fine line between sharing enough to keep folks interested and not sharing too much to keep the crazies away.

I thought long and hard about this one as well...ours is Baby G, though I may have to start using Farts or Chubs. :)

When I anonymized recently, I had to go through about 65 posts. Not a quick thing. But I just didn't like that someone had found my blog through a Google search for "papa" and "boy", given the other creepy results listed.
And I'm a bit sad: Chins is cute and all, but his real name is much cooler.

we did the same thing recently. 165 posts worth of deleting all our names. what am i even saying: it's not even totally completed. shake your own hand for having figured out you want to anonymize at 2 months!
